The Malaysian Examinations Council (MEC), also known as Majlis Peperiksaan Malaysia (MPM), is a statutory body under the Ministry of Education established in 1980 to oversee national pre-university examination, Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) and English proficiency test, Malaysian University English Test (MUET) in Malaysia.
